Cost of building a bowl?

raphabee 04:48 14/May/09

A quick question.

I'm organising a petition for a new bowl Caulfield Park, which is a huge recreational park in south-east Melbourne (not far from St Kilda).

The area is known as the Bagel Belt, and the bowl would be the shape of a bagel. It will be known as the Bagel Bowl.

I will organise a presentation to Glen Eira council, featuring local business people and some influential residents, etc etc

How much would a bowl like that cost to build?

I'm thinking roughly the size/tranny of Fitzroy Bowl. Concrete with extensions.

Any tips are appreciated.

"It will be known as the Bagel Bowl"

I'm gonna call it the Mel Gibson bowl.

hey raphabee id been keen to help you on that if you need support which you will, i live in hughesdale and it would be nice to have a nice piece of transition to skate!!! i will say one thing though, last time i heard something like this was proposed, the local residents were not happy about something like this wanting to be built because they thought it would attract vandals and junkies... bullshit reason as we all know but the majority of people that live in the area are elderly... anyway hit me up, my email is in my avatar!!!

The cost of a world class Bagel bowl -
$3.50 design costs (a standard bagel) + 10k (materials) + 70k (admin fee) = $80,003.50.

a bowl was proposed for this park about 5 or so years ago. it got shut down by the local residents, as rodos said.
i'm also a local so would support anything you try to get going.

Get Gutnick's support and the deal is done, no motherfucker from the bagel belt will step to that cunt.

It's true that a proposed bowl got shut down in Caulfield. But I think that was in Princes Park, which is a different park.

Love the Mel Gibson comment.

Brian Wilson, I'm planning on getting Gutnick's support. My grandmother goes to his house for elderly ladies parties.

I want to get sponsorship from Glick's Bagel shop. That place is an institution and I know Mr Glick.

That's a very good idea.

Next week, I'm gonna go the Town Hall and ask them what they need for documentation, petitions, etc....
