BLUESTONE DIY R.I.P.

bowlpatrol 19:02 14/Aug/13

I was never privy to the location of the now demolished Bluestone DIY skatepark, but from the small amount of footage I've seen it looks like it was a killer park.

Post ur photos and clips, surely it will be good motivation for the burgeoning DIY thing. And a good perv.

was in the inner western suburbs of melbourne. Was a huge effort getting it built, massive props to Nello for organising everyone to lend a hand and shift bricks and especially for financing it for the most part.

The owner of the building always made it very clear that it would be short lived though and it was much harder to skate than it appeared which makes all the footage from it that much more worth while.

some footage in this clip never skated it but looked rad

I also dug the sequence of Richard Flude's fakie flip but Bastien's cab flip in a line was next level!

Sorry to hear about your loss.
Half the fun of DIY is what you build may be gone tomorrow, loosing a spot does suck regardless.
Non the less to who ever was apart of that spot hats off to you, your making the skateboard world a better place!

Where I'm moving to soon has an enormous local, but 24/7 seccos and you have to wear helmets,

but it also has dozens of defunct and empty used car lots and carparks nearby so I'm definitely going to take what I learnt there and try and build up my own little plaza and have my own little park.

"...but 24/7 seccos and you have to wear helmets..."

Where is that???

I don't get down to the southern states much, but I never heard of having to wear helmets in Australia!!

Unless I missed something and you have moved to US or something like that.
