Vans Shop Riot is an original concept by Vans promoting Asia Pacific's finest Street Skaters, whilst offering the core skateboard scene & skate shops an authentic platform for recognition & community. Skate shops are the backbone of skateboard culture, and Vans Shop Riot is dedicated to skate shops & their teams, with this original series of contests across Asia-Pacific.

Vans invites skate shops form across the region the chance to design their own obstacles for the Shop Riot finals event to be held in the House of Vans Hong Kong on September 13. A total of 6 skate shop designed obstacles will be chosen - the selection process will start with Vans choosing 5 of the best, most creative, unique and exciting concepts, with one being selected by the online voting public for a total of 6 epic designs that will shape the Shop Riot finals course.

The 6 winning skate shop designs will have 2 representatives flown into Hong Kong on an all-expenses paid trip to see their concept brought to life. They will introduce their designs, watch the Shop Riot finals happen on their obstacles and participate in the best trick competitions. At the end of the Shop Riot event, one of the final 6 obstacles will be crowned Best in Show.


About Vans Shop Riot Series
Throughout the next 2 months all across the region Vans will host local qualifying events inviting the best Vans core-skate retailers head-to-head to skate for cash prizes. This year we have invited 47 of Asia-Pacifics best Skate Shop teams, to participate, each Skate Shop will need to choose 3 of their top skaters to represent at local event qualifiers and the finals events.

The 1st place team from each local qualifier event will win an all-expenses paid trip to the Hong Kong House of Vans, which will happen on the 13th of September to skate in the Shop Riot finals, where even more cash prizes will be on offer! APAC (AUG 9, 2019) – Vans Shop Riot is an original concept by Vans, promoting Asia Pacific’s finest Street Skaters, whilst offering the Core Skateboard scene & Skate Shops in Asia an authentic platform for recognition & community. Skate Shops are the backbone of Skateboard Culture, and Vans Shop Riot is dedicated to Skate Shops & their teams, with this original series of contests across Asia-Pacific. This year Vans has invited skate shops form across the region to design their own obstacles for the Shop Riot finals event, the best ideas will come to life at our biggest skate event of the year. Vans selected the 5 most creative, unique and exciting concepts and left it up to the public to choose the final obstacle for a total of 6. Each winning shop will be sending 2 representatives on a trip to House of Vans Asia; during their stay they will watch the Shop Riot finals, participate in best trick events and at the end of the event one obstacle will be crowned the “best in show”.
