> 'ST KILDA SKATEPARK - JUST ABOUT DEAD'
I have inside knowledge that the concept of a skate park in St Kilda is just about dead in the water. It makes sense that Port Phillip council's prefered site for the skate park is the Albert Park site but there have been loads of objectors (particularly the local primary school) and as usual they are organised, articulate and hold powerful positions in society and are used to getting their way. Council hasn't made a decision yet, but if these objectors win out, it can be just about guaranteed that the idea of a skatepark in St Kilda is gone forever. It's got to be worth one last shot to fight for this park! The council need to be reminded just how many skaters want this park and its time for us to drown out those whinging voices. If you have ever dreamt of a skate park in St Kilda - no matter where you live - please get on down and join us in a show of numbers and ensure the council has the support of skaters to stand up against the objectors and deliver what they have promised us for years.

i think i have an exam that afternoon . . . . but i went to one of the meetings ages ago . . . goodluck with it

Every single time there has been a meeting for it this year I have had more important things to do.

umm might go. its quite the worthy cause but a bit of a hike to get there..
i would of been there perhaps a year ago when these meetings where going on but fuck that
the council can suck me
I will be there for sure. Nick from citypark is doing a speach so get there and support! He knows very well how to deal with the council people and wiener objectors. I want some design input if possible, but whatevs I am sure that is a long while off.
