I hear that manlyvale skatepark will have a pool type bowl that includes stairs in the shallow end (to carve over or rag doll down).If anyone knows more about this new park or it's completion date please inform us here.
Manly vale is next of the ranks after they finish pouring lots of flat concrete at Fernside. No idea who is building it but it is a chad design featuring a small pool - bowl with shallow end steps and a deathbox as well.
The main concern here is who is building it ?
After Manly vale comes Five Dock with a retread on the old halfpipe deal
My only comment to all of this is MORE BIG BOWLS !
fox whats wrong with the loads of flat concrete at Fernside? At least I can skate there with no dramas about being kicked out of similar street spots. The park should be fun and thats what its all about yeah?

Paul I got plans mate, but give us your email and we can hook up for a roll. My car is not up for travels to Gosford so a Sydney roll would be cool.
MANLY VALE is well underway with construction by CONCRETE SKATEPARKS. They are jack hammering into solid sandstone at the moment. Word from the crew is the bowl will be : 3ft shallow ( to vert ) with pool type steps. 7ft deep end
If i can steal a copy of the skatepark layout I'll post it here soon
Trent my comments about Fernside are base on my personnal experiences. I've skated there since 94 over the years. If you go there early in the day (9ish) no drama's lunch time still ok late at night and then it gets squirrelly.
However i take your point with regards to getting kick out of spots, in that respect there will be no drama's
fuck i wish convic were doing it, then it could be a guarenteed good park...but i dunno these guys will probably do nicely.
so its going to be 7 ft with vert?
I visited the site today. Dude said it gonna be a right hand kidney, with concrete bullnose coping and a death box, should be sickness.
Aside from the pool theres some ledges and banks with a maroubra style wallride on top.
