Mona Vale Vert...Upgrade or pull down??

rollerball666 09:58 31/May/06

Is there any truth in the rumour that there has been talk in making the Vert ramp at Mona twice as wide and with a new surface.....Think it would be nice to save the old girl as she has been such a HUGE part of the skate scene in sydney....Or do you think it should be pulled down now we have Homebush....

sickboys 10:46 31/May/06

i've been waiting ages for them to re-surface it. i'd probably rather skate a re surfaced mona vale than driving all the way to homebush and pay.

any updates on it? last time i was there (a couple months back) there were chains across it

JOHN FOX 11:26 31/May/06

Yeah rollerball they are upgrading w/ a new surface hopefully better than the last time they surfaced. Rumour sez they may build something in concrete as well

rollerball666 11:29 31/May/06

Lets hope that the Crete is better than the last effort....any idea when the ramp will be finished at all???have they even started any work on it yet??..is it an ARD job??

Trogdor the Burninat 16:03 31/May/06

I wrote to them about an upgrade 2yrs ago, they fixed the platforms and said they were looking at the resurface when they can afford it, I thought they lied?

Beanstalk 17:34 31/May/06

If they took out the bumps and slipperty surface, it would be worth the trip up there. I'd like to see a channel in the new design too...

T.B.S.BAZ 19:33 31/May/06

Keep em free to skate.Mona's the best!

edy choi 20:35 31/May/06

i went there this arvo, its like smooth now and no cracks and shit so its pretty sweet

sickboys 00:15 01/Jun/06

are you saying they actually have fixed the ramp? or your just bullshitting?

JULIUS 17:54 01/Jun/06

Fuck yeah.
Last time i went there it was fucking chat.
Should be good

Clockwork 19:57 01/Jun/06

Rumour round Northern Beaches they're building a street course.

edy choi 20:30 01/Jun/06

nah no bullshit, they have fixed it, street course will be built in like a million yrs/5yrs or sumfing

p o c o 20:52 01/Jun/06

no more rumours please, annoying.
the council are coming to an agreement with the
amount of land to be put aside for the project, whether they take down crap loads of trees or not is up to them, we're trying to fuck-off the cricket nets, and start off the 5 year plan with a flat beginners surface with blocks, flat rail small hips section.

basically, nothing is happening for a while, hey..
but we are keeping the old girl, you might see modifications in the future, and definately some restoration of the currect structure. :)

rollerball666 21:04 01/Jun/06

Ok Poco so the suface on the ramp right now is still the dodgy old steel one from the last few years then???Hasnt been changed??Or is it a new job thats been done in the last year or so??

p o c o 09:01 02/Jun/06

nah, it's the old job.
but we know it's of sentimental value to a lot of people,
so we (and my more senior members of the committee) are trying to make that a priority over the next year or so, a street course is well anticipated, we really want this.
but everything will take time if it is to be a worthy project.
