Thought about just bringing it up in the PS3 thread but seeing as the old GTA San Andreas thread had over 50 or something pages in it thought it deserved a thread of its own. The trailer for this thing comes out in two days and is no doubt going to be fucking amazing. The game doesn't actually come out until October but either way its going to be worth it. I'm not actually going to buy the PS3 until this game comes out in Australia but theres been a fair bit of speculation as to where abouts the game will be located. More than likely apparently it will be in Europe such as London but possibly Tokyo or Carcer City. Rockstar have confirmed that they will be planning on using their new 'RAGE' engine power up Grand Theft Auto, A preview of this engine can be seen in Rockstar's latest game 'Rockstar presents table tennis' and if these graphics are anything to go by fans will not be disappointed in the next generation of Grand Theft Auto.

Now the '4' does not stand for the 4th GTA game. Because as we know, the officially 4th GTA game was GTA Vice City. The game series is worked as follows:

* Grand Theft Auto 1 - GTA 1, GTA London 1961 and GTA London 1969
* Grand Theft Auto 2
* Grand Theft Auto 3 - GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas - GTA Liberty City Stories and GTA Vice City Stories could also be included in this.
* Grand Theft Auto 4

This pretty much means that grand theft auto consisted of 5 games all on that engine and all of the stories mixed and clashed with each other. So considering the massive jump for the GTA 2 on ps1 then GTA 3 on PS2 you can expect a fucking massive jump to GTA4. The game is officially being called GTA4 and won't have the city's name in the title. Rumours are they where going to reboot and create a whole new story with nothing to do with any characters from previous games but then most people say that they will continue with the story. Carl Johnson will apparently be back as said on IMDB but apparently its not a very reliable source. Lazlow the radio host I am pretty sure is confirmed so hopefully that means it will not be set in a differen't 'universe' but with a similiar storyline with old characters.

Anyway I can't wait for this and probably the only reason I'll be forking out a lot of money for the ps3 is for this game. When San Andreas came out that was massive aswell as Vice City so the jump to GTA IV will no doubt be huge. Only two more days until the trailer is released and then October until the game comes out. I'm almost positive it won't be considering it won't be released until october and by then ps3 will have probably overtaken ps2 much like xbox 360 completely took over original xbox. 2 MORE DAYS TILL TRAILER!!!
