You could say the same about all the Hollywood movies that rip off Japanese and French movies. Actually, how many ads rip off music clip and movie special effects?
Still pretty rad though. I don't remember seeing kickflip indy's or 540's in the original balloon bowl clip.

or the film clip that rips off their 'invisible boards' from yeh right?
no one likes it when it happens to them!
but saying that i was glad to see Ty Evens credit the dudes who did it first in his interview. wonder if they shared the money they got with em....
everything has been thought of.
its just using different ideas to merge them into something new, in this case, an ad for chocolate.
