Lake Macquarie (newctle) parks

Cozmick Avenger 19:22 17/Oct/05

Concreteskateparks apparently have two crews in town working on 2 minor (?) facilities at Holmesville and Bolton Point. Swansea is also on the hit list before com ing into town to do Mayfield with completion of all in time for Xmas. Anyone know anything more?

I'm not sure about Swansea.(I'm dying to see some fresh round wall in this town. This old dogs days are numbered!) Bolton Pt and Holmesville are definitely started. I and I saw them this mornin'. Not enough crete poured to suss the overall layout at H'ville and Bolton is only dirtwork stage.
This is a huge surprise to me too Russ. Who did Lake Macq CC consult on these? I know one thing: Holmesville looks like BMX and moto bike central. Better take a broom, a mighty big broom.

damb those bmx bandits. you should post up some images of the 'Jennifer Hawkins Memorial Skateboarding Facility" in progress. i am keen for some different un pre-fag-ricated parks. TE (SLAYTANIC) and I drove past Mayfield yesterday, few peoples on the site clearing the pipes.
p.s. does anyone have any plans for all these new parks?

Cozmick Avenger 16:38 24/Oct/05

Holmesville= 10 or 15 g's well spent!!!!!! Gravel Burns and I went to check progress yesterday. This is going to be a fun park even though it will certainly be dominated by two wheelers. We sussed our lines and smiled at the 20'-24' wide tranny wall with big coping and even all the ollie hoppin', rail ridin' shit because this park is gonna be fast, smooth and functional and you know olde guys hate to push. Well fuck South Newcastle Beach, I'll pitch my tent under a tree and have several early ones out here. (After sweepin' up of course) Looks good! Must take camera next time.

How far along is this park COZ?

Cozmick Avenger 20:55 24/Oct/05

2-3 weeks should have it skateable. Platforms poured on both sides with coping cast in on southern tranny wall. Tranny wall shaped but not yet poured. Hump/funbox/tabletop bits and some ledges poured in middle. Flats will be last no doubt. It looks really good so far. When done it will surely be the best we have locally. (Big call!) On main road heading out of H'ville to Barnsley on right in front of soccer ground. Go for a drive or wait till I post some photos.
