After two years of designing and weighing in at 2100 square metres, Frankston is to become the home of Australia?s largest skatepark. The perfectly shaped, deep left hand kidney bowl and the small combo bowl have both been poured (no flat bottom yet, skaters?). The kidney is to have pool coping all the way round, a death box and a pool light ? so many good things in this one bowl! The smaller bowl will feature an assortment of coping styles to mix things up. The street area (no funboxes here) has several sets of stairs, banks, blocks and gaps. Heaps of lines throughout the park. Sessions should be underway shortly.

Monterey (Vic) also in the Frankston area is to get a skate path which will feature heaps of rails, blocks and assorted objects that should entertain all the starved street skaters. With a rough length of 250m it will have plenty of lines to string together.

The Vic Park (WA) 9ft/6ft bowl is taking shape. At the request of local lurkers, team Modus/ Camp Hoon, a man size ?peep hole? has been included for their voyeuristic pleasure.They also requested somewhere to place the esky hence the extra wide platforms. The Gosnells (WA) park has just been completed. This should fill a void around the area with its layout of steps, hubbas, euro, banks, quarters, etc. To accompany this, another park ten minutes down the road in Maddington will feature a multi level bowl with various transfers along with some gaps, banks and ledges.

Ringwood (VIC) is also getting a new park featuring a fully enclosed 6ft deep bowl with great hips and corners plus some good street obstacles. Stairs, rails, an angled manual pad and various ledges mean that the street skaters are covered. The design is finished and construction should be starting in the not too distant future. Also, the park that recently opened in Jindabyne (NSW), featuring a 6-8ft bowl and a small street area was one of our designs that had been in the pipeline for about three years. Congrats to the locals who followed it all the way through ? we hope you enjoy it!

Its so annoying that such a good park is in Frankston. It is easily the worst place in the world and having the option of skating at night would be much more beneficial in a different neighbourhood but oh well. That Monterey park sounds rad as well and i can't nonetheless i can't wait to skate franga as well...

about fucking time they make ringwood the council have been so shit about it, was ment to be done about a life time ago. The first plans looked so good now there just being tight. I dont think we need another bowl out this way though we just got box hill and all ready hav lilydale and knox but its hard to see with the trees on that plan.

Damn we have got it good. Ive seen the monterey path thingie designs and it looks fun. Look at how far convic has come over the last few years and what they have created. Huge respect. Franga is gunna be the shite!
