Hey guys,
I know there are a few people on here that sketch or digital make their own skatepark plans.
If anyone has any they could upload and give me permission to print for the purpose of showing a council some general concepts.

Thanks for any help!

Get a copy of the Dyrdek Plaza DVD and tell the council to watch it. Watching it made me want to design a plaza.

I like the idea of skateable community sculpture.Any obscure form can be designed to be skateable whilst maintaining artistic visual appeal.Create to Skate!

We have copies at Monster. Maybe ask your local skateshop to order em. If I get the chance, I'm gonna show it to Sydney City Council. Waterloo is great, but we need something that cuts the mustard up here. Long live the ledge!

Nice one Laz. It's a fukn rad video. I really hope we get a plaza like it sometime before my body wont allow skating anymore, because I can't afford to travel half way across the world just to skate one.

PLAZA FOR SYDNEY NOW!

Michael Mulhall
Michael Mulhall 00:50 04/Jun/06

Sydney City Council has to admit that skateboarding is firmly grounded in the worlds cultures, not just western cultures. It exhists all throughout Asia and the Americas, Europe, South africa, India, and most definately here in Australia.

For decades Sydneys (and Australias) skaters have endured public criticism, abuse, harrasement, and arrest for skating in the streets of Sydney. It's time that the council provided a facitlty to cater for the needs of Sydney's (and the worlds) skateboarders.

With the growing popularity of skateboarding, and the unfortunate unrest amongst the community, skateboarders have been abused, harrased, and beaten on a far more regular basis while skating in the city.

The city needs to recognise the change in the way skateboarding has progressed and become part of our culture. They need to provide a facility that blends well with the architecture of the city, and gives skaters a safe place to enjoy their chosen sport without being harrased.

What do you guys think about that as part of a proposal?

I'll probably go on about some tourist attraction type babble and some other stuff that you have to go through with councils, but in the end I'll show em the Dyrdek Plaza DVD.

I'll have to ring the council and find out what that flat top kid has planned. I hope NOTHING! I once heard him say some shit about having a ledge built every 100k throughout the city. IDIOT! Think bigger fool!

Fetus 12:22 04/Jun/06

They would probably say you already have a plaza - Waterloo. But damn would I love to see something bigger & MORE natural.
