Yeah man, rad to see, the new gens on so early.Lenny was completly obsessed way before he could walk.he was knee boarding, bum boarding and coffin riding for a good while and I also would stand him on the nose of my longboard and hold him by the hands to go down the shops or to the park and stuff.and he's always worn a helmet.as he got bigger and was standing and pushing a little on his own board he would like to stand on his board and hold my trailing arm to get a tow(he still does this if were to skate a fair distance) this allowed him to gain confidence and get used to speed.then as he progressed he learnt to flick his board up into his hands with his back foot even though his board was a mini it threatened to hit him in the mouth so I talked him into setting up a 70's style deck like the ones that I learnt on as they are much shorter. He loved this and as I have a few of these boards I too refound much fun in getting back to how I first started skating and for a while we would both take these boards to the park.now he likes to ride a variety of decks and as I have all my old ones he has quite a selection to choose from.Jamie from Kewday has also been kind enough to send a few minis along with mine when I need a board. As for k-mart and World industries I can not recomend either of these companies as world industries has never been a favorite of mine and Kmart skateboards are just dodgie. When kids are real little a bigger board gives them more room and stability and as they get bigger a smaller board allows for lightness and manouverability but trucks are the main thing. Those toy shop trucks just dont turn right and thats the most important part of the early skateboarding experience.Indy 126's fit most smaller boards and I got a set of indy 101's of ebay for Lennys cut down shapes. his lack of weight was also an issue as he was still unable to turn well even with the red indy rubbers so I ended up putting my old worn in rubbers in his new trucks, this worked well. also softer wheels dont bog down for little ones make for a smoother ride and eliminate the rattle factor. Thanks for the advice,I'll try it and I hope this was usefull, cheers mate.
