another probably pointless thread but if anyone has tips/ hot spots/ must do things in Canada/US.

Trying to go to some of the famous spots but dunno what bars, clubs, tourist things which DON'T involve lonely planet or trip advisor top things to do.

thinking like Cardiel rail, pizzanista, brooklyn banks etc

Cardiel rail isn't there anymore, its cut in half and at the dlxsf warehouse now. SF is still a must though. Stay at The Green Tortoise hostel in North Beach (its on the frank gerwer hill), Broadway & Kearny. You'll most likely run into skaters staying there too. Around the back of the hostel is the famous 2 flat 3 double set into the hill. There's a bar called the Saloon around the corner that has live blues playing all day and the only catch is a one drink minimum per person, it's one of the oldest bars in SF. From the hostel you can bomb broadway to embarcadero and skate pier 7, the island etc. Locals at the island can be super nice and will be down to point in direction to spots. 3rd an army is a few connection trains away and is a little bit hard to get to if you're trying to find it yourself but obviously worth it. Soma skatepark in the mission is super fun and good to warm up at and meet people as well, around the corner is the porn factory 3 up 3 down on mission as well. You've also got Portero skatepark as well which can be loose, amazing transition there and you'll probably see Phelps down there yelling at everyone.
Obviously a lot more to talk about as I spent 2 months there but definitely hit SF up dude it's the best!

While I was there I also hit up Oceanside, Portland, Seattle & Orcas island. If you're thinking about those places while you're on the west coast as well don't hesitate to ask me about them alexwaldmeyer (at) live.co.uk

^^^These guys nailed it

I'll just repeat: SF is a must. If the Green Tortoise is booked out check out Cable Court Hotel/Hostel, located on California Street. Soma park is pretty new and a good way to meet people, and the Island. Those two places would be the places to meet people.

Avoid Fisherman's Wharf, that place is the most unSF thing in SF. Bike across the Golden Gate. Explore Haight st and check out FTC and the waller/stanton st marble ledges. Hang out at Delores park and enjoy the view/people. If you want to do Alcatraz you'll have to book at least a month in advance. There's ferries circling around the bay all day you can jump on, too. Take a few days to explore Golden Gate Park. Bomb a hill down to Sunset. Get a burrito and go to thrift stores in the mission. Check out the bars in Chinatown, like Hawaii West. Tenderloin is eye opening, but actually has some good bars like Edinburgh Castle. You'll see so many spots just rolling around downtown SF. 3rd and army and Fort Miley are a trek, but obviously worth it. Drive up north and check out Muir woods.

What snapper said for Canada. Banff and The Rockies for sure. Calgary has some pretty fun spots, too.

Hey man. I just saw this but I'm not there anymore I'm down in Mexico. But I think it's snowing there at the moment. But there s a sick mini ramp in town. Bextra mini ramp I've ever skated. But on my Facebook everyone posting about the snow. So probably just drink and explore around the town . You can see some wildlife if you walk around the lakes most of the time

Low end theory in la. Probably the best club I've been too. Joint gets way to packed so it kinda makes it shitty. You literally have to wait in line to get back into the venue from the smoking area takes like half an hour lol maybe it's changed.
