What are your thoughts anyone? shoots a crazy slow motion of 960 fps. They used it for that busenitz ad and most likely that nyjah bs noseblunt. Jason hernandez's exy handle thing looks pretty legit too...

Its a fuckn sweet camera I use it lots @ work. Built in NDs are heaps helpful unlike the fs100. Keep in mind its 240p @ 1080p, then the faster the frame rate the lower quality, and it gets pretty unusable past like 400. Nyjah's bsnb ad was shot on Red Epics : 0

I guess the only thing I'm not 100% convinced on is that the internal codec is AVCHD and is 8 bit 4:2:0. But at the same time the high frame rates and possibilities with lenses are pretty cool.

Yeah I've started sizing one of these up too the last few weeks...
Word Leo the built in NDs stood out the most to me! And 4K compatibility too. I'm still prob gonna wait a year before upgrading though, let 4K become the norm that 1080 is now, then I'd imagine we'll see prices dropping dramatically...

Yeah, I've just left my company and had to give the HVX back, now i'm in the market for something new. Was thinking of going all out on the fs700, but 8k is a large chunk of change. I use my 60D for most my stuff but sometimes need that continuous recording past 12 minutes that only video cameras can offer. where do you work Leo? any camera recommendations?

Ahh true. Yeh dornomite I'm at a production company in north ryde, LTW. I'd say the fs700 is the way to go. Has everything for shooting profesh u would need like sdi and xlr inputs, and obviously u can get adaptors for zeiss, canon lenses etc. its very easy to use, no fuss. I guess u could consider like the blackmajic camera or the c100/300 but they would be a step up in price and less good for filming lines in skating. It would be a good investment. Or for cheap a gh3 with zoom recorder for audio could work.

Yeah true, I was thinking of going for the FS100, the only thing that worries me is the lack of ND filters, and of course you can't do the amazing slow mos. What's your opinion of the fs700 over the fs100?
Oh and i think the zoom rocker addition to fs700 is really handy...

Yeh u kinda need the NDs man, plus the footage is noticeably crisper on the 700, even those they have the same res. I added ya on facey if u wanna have a longer chat m8

Recording super slo-mo on the FS-700 is kind of a drag in my opinion and the camera is rather big and chunky (although it's still a great pice of equipment if you got the cash)... If you're after great quality (4K) at an affordable price range I would recommend checking out the new GH4 (although availability now is pretty hard to come by).
