davechami@gmail.com - He's a good dude and will probably tell you all about it. You might as well ask.

chami and ben gore combination is a match made in heaven. Could be a long shot but you could email Chami if you can find his email address and ask him, I don't think there would be to many dudes doing this type of stuff.

There's a photoshop plugin called Alien Skin which does all these kinds of filters. Or you can just fuck around with blending modes in photoshop and merge the image onto an actual image of a blown out negative, which is what looks like has been done in these.

These are from the article in the new Transworld where Chami has tried soaking negs in a bunch of different (and weird) shit. Definitely not Photoshop.

He definitely is the dude to talk to if you wanna talk about doing weird shit to film though.

use a lighter or a candle to singe the edges or even burn holes in the frame. its easier with MF over 35mm because you've got more area to burn. once you've got it how you like iron the neg under a brown bag on a flat stone or metal surface. maybe have it on another brown bag to be safe. then scan like normal. (may need to trim it to fit a holder or wing it on a flat bed film scanner.

I would've thought it was obvious,
as bibby said.

(the actual burning part anyway, the ironing part my not have been)

Chami was soaking these in all kinds of weird shit too, not just burning them. Hence why they look a little different from the usual film burns. Just scan some as normal and then fuck around with the film until you come up with something I reckon.
