Guy Stokes Channel Christmas Party

The Guy Stokes Xmas competition was held on stolen Aboriginal land. We would like to acknowledge the traditional owners, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects today and everyday to their Elders, past present and future.

Aboriginal people have been on this land for ever, have never surrendered their claims to sovereignty and have never sold their country.

This was NOT an Australia day event. We here at The Guy Stokes Channel recognise that date as the beginning of the genocide of this nations first people.

We hope everybody enjoyed the day as much as we did. There were dramatic falls, big biffs, friendly banter, team work, tremendous tricks, close calls, cold beers, tasty snags, long grinds & slides, great cheering, old friends, new friends, tinsel, the eucalyptus rail, cuts, bruises, face holes, awards, prizes, smiles, laughter, tears, trips to emergency, i guess what I'm trying to say is, this competition had it all.

As a youtube channel, we are proud as punch to bring you, the viewers, skateboardings night of nights (GSC Brownlow night) and skateboardings day of days (GSC XMAS COMP).

We would like to thank everybody who came down and made it such a beautiful day, and everybody who made it possible. A special thanks to Red, Keagan, & Mitch for building the ramps. Another thanks goes out to our tireless judges Sam Morgan, Braden Jordan, GAYFAG, & Blake Convey, nobody would envy their job, its a tough gig. I would also like to thank the MC and event organiser Conna Mallett, he worked around the clock to ensure this went smoothly, great job con.

We would also like to thank our sponsors; Vans, Sporté, Coopers, Pass~Port, Fast Times, & Stomping Ground, without them it would not have been the lavish day it was.

thanks,

GSC.
