RVCA Strange Oasis

Strange Oasis is an exhibition from Sydney artist Elliott Routledge and is comprised of a large installation piece as well as a series of canvas paintings.
In this most recent body of works, Routledge explores the bold, harmonious and colourful statements he is so well known for on canvas. There is a sense of child like familiarity in these paintings, drawing on a fascination with popular iconography and symbolism to create new images in his recognisable colour palette.
Inspiration for the collection comes from something beyond contemporary ideas and belief. The idea that without the noise and clutter of life, there is an ideal Oasis, a place filled with treasures that make up who we are.
